Job Summary:

The Communications Director of the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes is a vital and paramount position. The Diocese consists of over 50 churches; 130 clergy who are resident in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Canada, New York, West Virginia, and Virginia. Due to its widespread ministry, the Communications Director must seek to connect the churches and clergy to each other, to the community and ultimately to the Nation.

This position is part-time at 20 hours per week. While the Diocese offices are in Copley, Ohio, the Communications Director may be an off-site position with periodic face to face meetings. The Diocesan Communications Director reports directly to the Executive Assistant to the Bishop.

Responsibilities: Communicate the heart and practical nature of all ADGL ministries on multiple social media platforms. Develop an ADGL communications strategy for approval by the Bishop and Standing Committee. Create and manage release dates for recurring publications. Highlight ADGL member church activity and ACNA activity, expanding community and inspiring new initiatives. Assists the Exec Assistant with special events with and for the ADGL. Provide feedback to the Office of the Bishop and the Standing Committee resulting from communication responses and occasional surveys of interest. Support the Diocese and the Bishop in prayer. Other duties as assigned.

Expectations: Perform and coordinate office administration specific to the office. Stay current with social media norms in regard to verbal and visual communication. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and publishing software. Recruit and supervise volunteers as needed with the blessing of Exec Asst. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is suggested.
