Job Summary:

A chapel, parish hall, and Christian Education building occupy a wooded setting on the outskirts of historic Boerne, Texas. This is the home of St. John’s Anglican Church — a welcoming, inter-generational community. Her ministry is rooted in sacramental worship and sound Biblical instruction. St. John’s has a presence in the wider Boerne community, supporting public services and charities as she is able, and hosting a small, non-profit, faith-based school. But above all, St. John’s practices and exhibits all that is right, good and commendable for any Christian organization where love and charity reign.  ‒‒ Fr. Donald Hughes Retiring Rector

Presently, St. John’s is seeking a full-time (preferred) or part-time (bi-vocational) ordained Rector to lead our church of about 75 congregants into the coming years. St. John’s was founded over 25 years ago and is a parish church of the Convocation of the West of the Missionary Diocese of All Saints. We are a Prayer Book congregation using the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, dedicated to traditional Anglican doctrine and liturgical practice. Boerne is a community of approximately 20,000 located in the scenic Texas Hill Country, only about 25 minutes from San Antonio. The area is experiencing tremendous growth and St. John’s has also grown in recent years. Our congregation is comprised of all ages with an average weekly attendance of about 50 worshipers. Candidates to lead St. John’s should be part of the Anglican Church of North America and either posses or obtain membership in Forward In Faith. If you are interested in speaking further, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss our parish with you.
