Family Life Pastor / Associate Priest Status: Full-time, Salaried, Heath Benefits Supervision: The Family Life Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance. The Family Life Pastor serves at the discretion of the Senior Pastor. Job Summary: Pensacola is an historic community recently revitalized and voted one of the top downtown areas is Florida, with a vibrant art community, vacation destinations, and one of the top-rated Naval Bases in the country. The Mission Anglican Church was launched in an historic downtown church building in 2005 with a missional goal to reach beyond the church campus into the community so that our presence would make a real difference and demonstrate Christ’s love. That original vision firmly established us as an integral part of the community. Now our vision has evolved to reflect our disciple-making process – Love, Life, Together! Our target demographic is friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers, with emphasis on young families. The Family Life Pastor will focus on young families, teens, and children and assist the Senior Pastor in preaching, teaching, vision-casting, counseling, leading and office administration. Responsibilities and Duties: The Family Life Pastor will oversee paid and unpaid staff working with children and youth. We have two part-time children’s ministers and we are in the process of hiring a new part-time youth pastor. The Family Life Pastor will work to build a healthy, vibrant young adult community. Qualifications and Skills: The Family Life Pastor will be an ordained priest, transitional deacon, or a person willing and qualified to enter the ordination pipeline within the Diocese of Church for the Sake of Others. A post graduate degree in Divinity or Theology is preferable. The Family Life Pastor should have experience in preaching, teaching, office administration, and millennial culture. Expectations: The Family Life Pastor will reach out to former, current, and future young families and work to build a genuinely relational community. The Family Life Pastor will oversee all staff and volunteers who work with youth and children, and ensure we are compliant with the requirements of ‘Ministry Safe’ and the diocese of C4SO. The Family Life Pastor will develop and launch a worship service geared primarily to young families.
