Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Clear and present commitment to Jesus Christ as revealed in scripture required. Passion for Youth Ministry demonstrated in previous commitments required. Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, Christian education or related field preferred. At least one year of experience working with youth in a teaching role preferably in a leadership role. Ability to creatively develop and implement teaching tools and themes. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with children, families, volunteers,Youth Ministry staff and colleagues. Meet all screening background checks as required by church policy. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Able to work evenings and weekends as required. Show a commitment to a long-term Youth ministry at St. Andrew’s Mount Pleasant Remain up to date with current social media trends (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in coordinating youth ministry weekly events Ensure all monies spent on behalf of youth ministry are appropriately accounted for and within budget. Teach the transformational Gospel of Jesus Christ in every aspect of the program. Identify, recruit, screen, train, develop, shepherd and support a team of volunteer leaders (adult and student). Be the primary worship leader and facilitate a youth worship team.. Perform all administrative tasks related to the youth ministry. Maintain processes and procedures, safety, facilities, signage, supplies and materials. Utilize social media to connect with adult leaders, students, and families. Participate in and attend regular meetings with the Director of Student Ministries Help develop and support a network of youth ministry small groups centered on Jesus and community. . Help lead the confirmation process Attend Confirmation retreat Coordinate and attend Confirmation Testimony Night and Confirmation Service Other duties as assigned or as necessary for the successful execution of duties.
